Treviamet (Sitagliptin + Metformin HCl Tablets)
Treviamet is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Sitagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride. Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that works by increasing levels of natural substances called incretins, which help control blood sugar by increasing insulin release and decreasing the amount of sugar made by the liver. Metformin is a biguanide that helps lower blood sugar by reducing the amount of glucose produced by the liver and improving insulin sensitivity. This combination is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not intended for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, and headache.
