Trevia (Sitagliptin Tablets USP 50 mg)
Trevia contains Sitagliptin, an orally-active dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by increasing the levels of natural substances called incretins, which help control blood sugar by increasing insulin release, especially after a meal, and decreasing the amount of sugar made by the liver. It is typically used as an adjunct to diet and exercise. Trevia is not for use in patients with type 1 diabetes or for the treatment of diabetic ketoacidosis. Common side effects may include upper respiratory tract infection, nasopharyngitis, and headache.
