Tamsolin contains 0.4 mg of Tamsulosin Hydrochloride, an alpha-1 adrenoceptor antagonist. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the bladder neck and prostate, improving urine flow and reducing symptoms of urinary retention. Common side effects may include dizziness, headache, and abnormal ejaculation. It should be taken approximately 30 minutes following the same meal each day. Patients should be cautioned about the risk of sudden drops in blood pressure (orthostatic hypotension) when starting therapy.
