Herperax-800 (Aciclovir Tablets BP 800 mg)
Herperax-800 contains 800 mg of Aciclovir (BP), a synthetic purine nucleoside analogue with antiviral activity. This high-strength formulation is specifically indicated for the treatment of Herpes zoster (shingles) and the treatment of Varicella (chickenpox). It works by inhibiting viral DNA synthesis, stopping the virus from replicating. For shingles, it is most effective when started within 72 hours of rash onset. It may also be used for the suppression of frequently recurrent genital herpes. Patients should ensure adequate fluid intake during treatment to prevent crystalluria and renal impairment.
