Galvus Met (Vildagliptin/Metformin HCl 50 mg/850 mg)
Galvus Met is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing Vildagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride. Vildagliptin is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor that enhances pancreatic insulin secretion, while Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Together, they are used to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise, and monotherapy do not provide adequate control. This medication is not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Common side effects include nausea, headache, dizziness, and gastrointestinal upset.
