Creon 10000 contains Pancreatin, a mixture of digestive enzymes (lipase, amylase, and protease) used for pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy. These enzymes are derived from porcine pancreatic glands and help in the digestion of fats, proteins, and sugars. It is indicated for individuals with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI) caused by conditions such as cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatectomy, or pancreatic cancer. The capsules contain enteric-coated minimicrospheres designed to release the enzymes in the small intestine to aid nutrient absorption. Common side effects include stomach pain, gas, and nausea.
