Catapres® 100 Clonidine Hydrochloride Tablets

Catapres 100 contains 100 micrograms of Clonidine Hydrochloride, a centrally acting alpha-agonist hypotensive agent. It is primarily indicated for the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) by reducing sympathetic outflow from the central nervous system, which decreases peripheral resistance and heart rate. It is also used off-label or in specific pediatric contexts for ADHD management and tic disorders. Patients should be advised not to discontinue therapy abruptly to avoid rebound hypertension. Common side effects include dry mouth, drowsiness, and dizziness.
